This Avengers Tattoo Might Make You Think Twice

We’re fans of tattoos ’round these parts, and while we’ve done a few posts lampooning some “lesser” examples of body art we generally try to keep things on the positive tip. Sometimes that just isn’t possible, and the worst of the worst needs to be shared. That’s exactly what happened when we ran across this Avengers tattoo, presumably based on the cinematic versions of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk.

As far as I can tell, this was originally posted by Redditor RedHerring1up with the title: “The avengers (Witch precious as the hulk)”

While I’d never disparage actress Gabourey Sidibe, who played Precious in the movie of the same name, I couldn’t help but chuckle when looking at this version of the Hulk. Another Redditor said it looked more like Moe from The 3 Stooges, which is also a fair comparison.

That said, none of the characters really shine in this piece. Here’s what I think the owner of this tattoo was looking for.

I’m just not seeing it…

UPDATED: As Ink reader James pointed out, perhaps the tattoo is based on this image, a fan-designed poster for the film (or maybe its sequel) with an expanded cast.

    Actual image it’s based on:

I guess this is what happens for getting a fake movie poster someone made in their basement permanently tattooed on your leg

This is why you audition the tattoo artist. Look at photos of their work. And you get what you pay for.
