Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Dale Keown is a phenomenally talented artist whose painstakingly meticulous and detailed work never gets old. While Marvel’s “Incredible Hulk” has featured plenty of stellar artists over the years, for my money none stand above Keown’s run on the title. While his style has continued to evolve since then, you can tell Keown loves to draw the Green Goliath whenever he gets the chance as evidenced by his many sketches and variant covers.
Yesterday I came across this excellent Hulk tattoo based on one of Keown’s sketches. It belongs to Greg Delaney and manages to capture a lot of what makes Keown’s take on the character so special.
Here is Keown’s original sketch, as well as one more just for fun.
